AKA was raised by a grandmother in Mitchell’s Plain. He went to the elementary school of the Holy Cross Convent. He moved in 1995 to Johannesburg to stay with mother, Lynne Forbes who was a teacher. His dad worked for an insurance firm, AKA studied at Greenside Primary School and St. John’s College during his time in Johannesburg.
Kiernan Jarryd Forbes is AKA’s name at birth. In 2016. In 2019, the rapper announced that his name would be changed from being a Jack of all trade and one of his considerations is King Forbes.

Accurate net worth for AKA is uncertain, but thousands perceived him to be worth millions. A report in 2018 claimed that AKA’s net worth was approximately R155 million. In a tweet, the rapper scrapped the claims.
