Lionel Richie was born in 1949, and the singer-songwriter was raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. He is 70 years old at the moment.


He was a pioneer member of the Commodores, a top R&B act of the 1970s, before making it big on his self-titled debut album as a solo artist with the No. 1 single “Truly”

Soon more hits followed, along with “Hello” and “Dancing on the Ceiling.” In 1985, he co-wrote Michael Jackson’s humanitarian relief song “We Are The World.”
