His full name is Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev from Indian and popularly called Sadhguru, which means someone who is not educated but, with a physical entity of many morals.

Sadhguru is a teacher, leader, guide and gives hope to thousands of people through his spiritual beliefs and doctoring.

He was born in the year 1957, September 3rd, into the family of Vasudev who is an ophthalmologist.

Sadhguru was born into the city of Mysore, Karnataka in Indian. Due to the medical profession of his father, this made his father and his family always moving from one country to another country. This made Sadhguru changing schools all the time.


Sadhguru loves nature and likes animals as his pet. His beliefs and perspective about life changed just when he came across a great Yoga master, whose name was Malladihalli Sri Raghavendra Swamiji.

Sadhguru came in contact with him just at the age of 11 years, and things began to change. The yoga master took a lot of time to teach him and explained some basic Hindu spiritual insight to him.

Just after meeting the yoga master, Sadhguru acted like a diligent student by putting to practice all the teachings and practice daily.

Furthermore, Sadhguru gained admission into the University of Mysore where he studied Literature in English and came out with a bachelor’s degree.


He later proceeded into small businesses like construction business and poultry farming to earn a living.

An event happened in his life when he was 25 years old. The experience set him back on the lane which he had forgotten many years back.


He took a short journey on September 23rd, 1927. He took his motorbike down to a hill called the Chamundi hill, and had a supernatural encounter which he thought, lasted about 10 minutes, but he later knew the encounter actually lasted for 4 hours.

He said the experience seemed to be a trance.

The experience made him began to search for answers to some questions in his mind. The more he searched for answers, the more he wanted to know more. So, right there, he knew he needed to get more understanding and develop his passion for this adventure.

He later handed his two businesses to his trusted friends, so he could have the full time to concentrate on the new assignment ahead of him.

From there, he created his first yoga class which started in 1983, although it was a small class later grew into thousands and many people began to follow his teachings and practice too.

This later produced the Isha foundation which is basically on yoga training and charity foundations. Many people attend the class and even people outside the country who have heard a lot about him would sometimes pay a visit to his classes.

The foundation has since produced over 114 million people and these classes and teachings bring peace and restore well-being to people all around. The peace and hope it gives people made Sadhguru’s life a complete fulfillment.

Sadhguru met his wife Vijaykumari ( a banker) back at his birth town Mysore. They got married in 1984, and later have their first and only child in the year 1990, six years later. A baby girl named Radhe.

But sadly, Sadhguru lost his loving wife on January 23rd, 1997. Their daughter, Radhe is now a grown woman and is married to a musician named Sandeep Narayan.


-His foundation Isha-foundation has its name in the Guinness book of records for the plantation of over 8,052,587 trees at Tamil Nadu in a day.

-He never accepted any payment for the classes he took as a Yoga teacher. All the expenses were being paid through his business.

-He loves his motorbike and has traveled to different towns in India with it.

-He is a philanthropist and was the leader of many welfare charity programs.

-His net worth is $2.5 million which is 250 crores in India, equivalent to NGN952,500,000.00 in Nigerian currency.
